  Amoxicillin is a derivative of penicillin that stables in the presence of gastric acid. Amoxicillin is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract independently of presence of food in the alimentary canal. Amoxicillin is excreted unchanged in the urine. Its excretion can be delayed by concurrent administration of Probenecid that could prolong the therapeutical effect. Amoxicillin is active against gram negative and gram positive bacteria
